The Edmonton Oilers managed to score a rare goal that has likely never been seen in the NHL ever, and of course it involved former Chicago Blackhawks forward Corey Perry.

As the Connor McDavid-less Edmonton Oilers faced off against the red hot Alex Ovechkin's Washington Capitals on Tuesday night, Leon Draisaitl setup Corey Perry for his 473rd career NHL goal and it will surely be one of the most memorable ones of his career for Perry.

Oilers cut goal deficit vs Capitals to one, with an assist by Leon Draisaitl and Nachos?

A goal that infuriated Capitals goaltender Logan Thompson, and his 22 wins alongside 2 losses on his red hot season, was due to the fact of nachos being thrown on the ice which distracted him.

At Rogers Place in Edmonton, a fan tossed the plate of nachos on the ice right by the feet of where Corey Perry ended up burying his goal, have a look.

Edmonton Oilers well-known humidic reporter, Gene Principe, dealt a 'cheesy' pun involving Perry's nacho-assisted goal, which sparked laughs from fans in their 3-2 loss.

A closer look shows the Oilers ice cleaning crew shoveling up the nachos, following their goal to make it a 3-2 game.

Washington Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery addressed the nacho-goal incident during his post-game interview:

"We just talked about that in the coaches' office. I don't think I've ever seen a nachos-on-the-ice National Hockey League game. Did they save them? Maybe we can bring them into the locker room. I didn't even notice them, and then guys were yelling, 'There's nachos on the ice!'" Carbery said. "I was like, 'I don't know, can we challenge that?'"

In 2022, fans were furious with the Oilers concession prices, and since, we can only imagine that prices have gone up, an estimated price of $20 for the nachos.

The Oilers fan scored a lifetime memory of assisting on an NHL goal, but ultimately could have ended up being served a lifetime ban from watching his Edmonton Oilers play at Rogers Place.
