Blackhawks Connor Bedard breaks silence on lack of production: a bold statement

The Chicago Blackhawks have had plenty of ups and downs throughout this season, with many losses against bottom-dwelling teams, than surprise wins against contenders such as the Minnesota Wild, like in their most recent game against the Minnesota Wild where they walked away with a 2-1 victory.

Despite the win, Connor Bedard still seems off, and his lack of point production has affected himself as he is not on pace to match his point-per game total of his rookie 2023-24 season.

When asked about his recent play, Bedard delivered a response that shows he is dwelling and not taking it easy:

"Definitely not playing great the last little bit, so I'll try to be better."

"You can look everywhere, but just feeling like I'm having more of an impact on the game. Felt like earlier in the year I was making a lot of plays and was pretty dangerous out there. Lately I've just been less of an impact and not really making a difference. Hopefully I can contribute more."

Said Bedard

Bedard has 13 points in 16 games, more than any Chicago Blackhawk at the moment- but it's clearly not up to his standards, which is good for a young up and coming start like 'Bedsy' to put pressure on himself, rather than letting the media and fans do so.

However, concerns are arising that Luke Richardson may be mishandling the 19-year old phenom, who has had several different linemates only 16 games into this years NHL season.

Is lack of comfortability with teammates the issue? If so, Richardson may need to have something set in stone sooner than later, to avoid Bedard's morale going downhill.
