Team Canada has asked Connor Bedard to join them for the Men's World Championship.
Bedard is likely to accept the invitation, even though the season is still going on.
The news came out during a chat on TSN's insider trading show, where Pierre LeBrun and Chris Johnston talked about how Team Canada's GM Rick Nash is putting the team together and would like to bring in Sid/Bedsy.
«No official word, but the answer is expected to be a yes for Connor Bedard to play at the Men's World Championship for Team Canada in May. #Blackhawks
It is Team Canada's plan to also reach out to Sidney Crosby if/when #LetsGoPens are eliminated from playoff contention.» https://t.co/dzfXNdBUzI NHL News (@PuckReportNHL) April 2, 2024
LeBrun and Johnston also mentioned the idea of Crosby and Bedard playing together. They think it would be awesome to see these two great players team up.
