The NHL made their returns to play on Saturday with practices kicking off and all eyes were on Connor Bedard, the 19-year old Blackhawks forward who was snubbed from Team Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament.

Bedard addressed reporters at practice and of course, they tried to get a fiery response from their controversial question asked.
The absence of Bedard on the Team Canada roster is certainly felt, with a lack of depth scoring, aside from their top line featuring Nathan MacKinnon, Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby.
The management group certainly regrets not inviting former first overall pick Bedard on the roster, but how does Bedard feel? Is he butthurt?
«For sure, you always want to play for your country,» Bedard said «Right now, I'm just watching as a fan, but if you ask anyone in the league, they'll want to play for their country.»

It was not only Bedard left off the roster, known names of forwards such as Mark Scheifele, Tom Wilson and goaltentender Logan Thompson were left off as well.

Blackhawks media tries to get agitated response from Connor Bedard

Bedard's sadly viewing from the sidelines, but his frustration is clear towards Team Canada's management and also the Chicago media, who tried to get a agitated response from Bedard, when asked if he was disappointed he was not on the roster.
"if you ask anyone in the league, they'll want to play for their country.

Bedard than commented on if he has been watching it at home on TV or not, and he sure has!
«It's been unreal. It's probably been the highest level of hockey ever played,» Connor Bedard said. «I mean, that Canada game, first 10 seconds there's 3 fights. I think people were wondering how it would be and it's been unbelievable to watch. It's great for the game, and obviously playing for your country shows a lot of pride. It's been fun to watch.»
With astonishing record-breaking numbers shown here, Gary Bettman is now being praised for removing the All-Star Game and starting a new era of "4 Nations Face-Off"
