Connor Bedard issues important statement towards Blackhawks fans
The Chicago Blackhawks are a storied original six franchise with aspirations of holding a Stanley Cup in the building once more. But the wins didn't add up enough to overcome the losses in 2023-2024.
The last time they did it, it was with Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Brent Seabrook, and Duncan Keith leading the pack.
While the team completed a significant year of rebuilding, they acknowledge how bad the year was, including the face of the franchise, Connor Bedard.
Bedard acknowledged the team had a tough year, facing more injuries than expected.
But the fans still came through and exceeded even Bedard's own expectations, when it came to support.
They're on the cusp of another NHL entry draft, where we're hopeful that Kyle Davidson has another huge draft.
But Bedard was classy enough to acknowledge the team's failures and appreciate the fans for all they do.
The team finished 8th in the Central Division, with a 23-53-6 record, with Petr Mrazek being the #1 goalie and Connor Bedard a Calder Trophy favorite.
