Connor Bedard finally scored a goal tonight, ending his 12-game goal drought.

It was on the power play right at the beginning of the second period. The Hawks worked it out of the corner and got it up the right boards. Tyler Bertuzzi them received the puck and gloved it down to himself. He was then bumped but stayed strong on his feet and passed the puck to Bedard. Bedard sniped it right over the right shoulder and gave Chicago a 3-0 lead.

His look after the goal told the whole story, with a mixture of happiness and a sense of release that he finally scored a goal.

That marks his fourth goal and his 16th point on the season.

The Blackhawks admin said what fans were thinking, too.

This is the best game the Hawks have played all year, between offensive and defensive effort and Petr Mrazek's stellar performance in between the pipes, fighting off multiple high-danger chances from the Stars. This game being capped off by a Bedard power play goal is just the cherry on top.

The line of Taylor Hall, Philipp Kurashev, and Connor Bedard has worked all night as well, as all three of them have been on the ice for multiple Hawks goals. Luke Richardson should keep this line for Friday's game against the Minnesota Wild, who have been on a terror recently.

Hopefully this sparks something within Bedard to keep scoring and avoid another goal drought, because the team as a whole is better when he's scoring goals, confident, and at the top of his game. At the end of the day, that is the goal of this season, is for the veterans to shape the young talent into stars.
