This was the second time that Kane had returned to Chicago since he has joined the Detroit Red Wings and as the team defeated the Blackhawks, this gave him a 2-0 record against his former team. Kane did not register a point, and he was a + 2.
Many fans turned their eyes to current Blackhawks superstar Connor Bedard who had a few run ins with Kane during their first meeting last February. Many felt that Bedard may try to give a hit towards Kane but during an interview with the media, he chuckled and laughed off the idea as he felt it would not happen again.
Kane is in his second year with the Red Wings after signing with them last season as he recovered from evasive hip surgery. His determination and skill almost willed his team into the playoffs, but they came up short on the last day of the season due to tiebreaking rules.
The Blackhawks were in a two game-winning streak and fans hoped that the team could capitalize and expand that streak which unfortunately came up short. The team currently sits 5-8-1 and is still trying to find its identity and it's lines that will may gel.
The Blackhawks will be back on the road for one game as they fly down to Dallas and take on the Dallas Stars. Game time will be on November 7th at 8:00 PM eastern.
