Former 3X Stanley Cup Champion Arrives In the Windy City
The Chicago Blackhawks reshaped the face of the team this off-season, as they let many players walk to free agency. That freed up cash to bring in improvements, and one of them has arrived in Chicago.
Pat Maroon is a former 3-time Stanley Cup Champion and has won two with the Tampa Bay Lightning, and one in 2019 with the St. Louis Blues, defeating the indomitable Boston Bruins.
Maroon has shown he's ready for the season to begin, as he has completed his first skate at the Fifth Third Arena.
It appears at this time, no other players were documented with him, but he's ready to go! Training camp starts next week.
Maroon suited up for 49 games with the Minnesota Wild last season, and would only play for 2 regular season games. But would play in 13 playoff games, scoring 2 points.
Maroon will shore up the bottom six as a depth option and will be a grinder, but can be utilized net-front in the power-play as well.
It'll be interesting to see how Luke Richardson decides to use Maroon in 2024-2025.
