Former Blackhawks enforcer makes desperate move to save NHL career

Former Blackhawks forward Jujhar Khaira has found his career at a new low, as he signed in the AHL.

The 30-year-old winger was signed by the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL, and skated in only one game with the Minnesota Wild last season.

He would continue his season in the AHL with the Iowa Wild posting 18 points( 5 G, 13 A).

The winger has played 337 NHL games split between the Minnesota Wild, Chicago Blackhawks, and Minnesota Wild. His career totals in the NHL are 80 points( 33 G, 47 A).

He has played 155 games in the AHL since 2013 scoring 75 points(27 G, 48 A), and was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the 3rd round, 63rd overall in 2012.

He has split his time in the AHL with the Bakersfield Condors, Oklahoma City Barons, and Iowa Wild.

Khaira will look for a fresh start in Syracuse to revitalize his career in the AHL.

in 2022-2023 with the Blackhawks Khaira scored 14 points( 6 G, 8 A) in 51 games.
