General managers around the NHL spoil the Chicago Blackhawks trade plans
The Blackhawks have had swirling rumors, regarding their wishlist for free agency. It begins on July 1st, Chicago's cap space will be a blessing for the team when they are scoping the best players to improve the Hawks in the coming years.
However, these rumors have just been speculation until recently, when it comes to what free agents the team was targeting until recently:
TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun writes in The Athletic(opens in a new tab) that the Blackhawks are looking to add a top-six forward and perhaps a middle-six forward as well this off-season.
This means that GM Kyle Davidson make a huge splash and find a forward in the offseason to compliment Connor Bedard, in lieu of the issues with Taylor Hall.
It's been reported that the Blackhawks have been in contact with the Carolina Hurricanes about Martin Necas, according to LeBrun.
The Chicago Blackhawks have been brought up by name by Pierre LeBrun as he reported "I'm told 5-7 teams invite intriguing possibilities for the Hurricanes, but no one has gone up to the price they'd like to see. Winnipeg, Chicago, Boston, Montreal among the teams that have inquired."
it appears that Necas may be a player who fits the rebuild timeline and could be the perfect linemate for Bedard.
He could also elevate the top line, scoring 53 points last season and in 2022-2023 71 points in 82 games.
This should be exciting for Blackhawks fans, as the team is looking to improve soon. Targeting high-end players like Martin Necas could be a look into the future Blackhawks who look like contenders, and not 31st-ranking pretenders.
