The Blackhawks organization has signed goaltender Ben Gaudreau to a one-year deal.

"We are excited about the addition of another quality goaltender like Ben," said IceHogs President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Mark Bernard. "He enjoyed a tremendous junior career and has experience on the international stage as well. It will be exciting to watch his development over the next year."

At 21 years of age, Gaudreau played the 2023-24 season in Erie with the Otters of the OHL and was the team's top goaltender. Being 6-foot-2, 190-lbs, many believe he has 'much more' growing to do.

Gaudreau represented Team Canada as the best goaltender at the U18 level in 2021, and once again at the U20 level in 2023, recording a shutout in the two games he appeared in.

After his 2020-21 season, going 5-0 representing his country at the worlds, the San Jose Sharks drafted him, but never signed Gaudreau to his entry level deal.

The Blackhawks have signed and invited him to the team's development camp which started Sunday June 30, to Friday July 5.
