It was revealed yesterday that former Chicago Blackhawks forward Pete Conacher had passed away at the age of 92.

Conacher, who was the son of former Maple Leafs star Charlie Conacher played for the Blackhawks for four seasons from 1951 through 1955. He played in the era of the original six which also included stops with the New York Rangers and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He had spent the remainder of his playing career in the American Hockey League as he played for the Buffalo Bisons and ended his career in 1966 with the Hershey Bears.

Not known as a regular point producer, he had played 229 games in the NHL, scoring 47 goals with 39 assists for 86 points and had 55 penalty minutes. He also played for Team Canada in the world championships in 1959 when he racked up eight games played, scoring seven goals with three assists for 10 points and two penalty minutes.

After his playing career ended, he became the president of the Ontario Chapter of the Special Olympics and continued his work off ice.

It's been a tough year for the hockey world as several prominent members of the hockey world have passed away. Along with Conacher, other names include Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, Sergei Berezin, Roman Cechmanek, Ron Ellis, and Konstantin Koltsov to name a few. All these players have made an impact for the game and in different eras.

We would like to extend our condolences and support to the Conachar family through this difficult time.
