Nick Foligno: The Blackhawks Model Captain

You can see in this video from "Every Shift" that Foligno is making quirky jokes about modeling, and is having an all-around great time. The chemistry he has with everyone is just amazing.

We didn't get to see him flash the blue steel or magnum, but we saw how great and electric he was on and off the ice.

Foligno has been a vital part of the Blackhawks since he arrived with Taylor Hall in 2023. Foligno has been Bedard's long-term mentor on the Blackhawks team, as we've seen him build a relationship on and off the ice, with Bedard.

This along with the fact he currently eats a lot of minutes on the ice, and adds a physicality to the 1st line that gives Teuvo Teravainen, and Connor Bedard space to work to build plays and score goals.

He plays special teams and is on the 1st power-play unit and 1st penalty-kill unit.

Now, he isn't in his prime like he was at the end of his time in Columbus, in 2021 but he still has some good mileage left in him.

In 2023-2024, he played 74 games for the Blackhawks scoring 37 points( 17 G, 20 A) 8 power-play goals, and 8 power-play assists, while accumulating 57 PIMs that season.

Last night saw him play a total of 20:45 time on ice against the Buffalo Sabres and played the most shifts he had all of this season so far, in 25.

The Blackhawks need something close to a prime Nick Foligno to push the team deep into the postseason.

He's experienced that kind of play during his time with the Boston Bruins, and Columbus Blue Jackets.

As Captain of the Blackhawks does he have a few more great years in him?
