Jets head coach sends a stern message to Blackhawks Bedard before Friday's regular season game
The Winnipeg Jets have begun their tear in the NHL during the regular season, scoring a touchdown on the Edmonton Oilers.
The Jets like to score by committee, as evidenced by the game Wednesday which saw everyone from Gabriel Vilardi, to Dylan Samberg score a goal. An astonishing 12 Jets players had a point that night.
Scott Arniel isn't looking to slow down and knows about the Blackhawks and their top weapon, Connor Bedard.
He feels Bedard will need to be shut down like they did to Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
Much like the Blackhawks will have to solve Connor Hellebuyck, the Jets will have to solve the puzzle of Connor Bedard.
Bedard won the Calder Trophy in 2023-2024 and scored 61 points( 22 G, 39 A) in his first 68 NHL games.
Bedard was part of the lifeblood which gave the Blackhawks a chance to win the game in Utah. He and Philipp Kurashev drove the offense near the end of the 2nd and into the 3rd to make a final push.
The Blackhawks and Bedard will have to be dangerous, not only to give the Jets issues on the offensive end and be stuffy on the backend.
This means, shutting down the Jet's top 3 lines, as they practice scoring by committee.
The Winnipeg Jets will play their home opener Friday against the Chicago Blackhawks at Canada Life Centre. It'll be the 56th time these two organizations have square off against each other since 2000 and the Jets have the better record at 30-20-6 which includes an 11-1-1 record over their last 13 matchup
If the Blackhawks are to change their fortunes, any night is better than tonight, as they don't have the greatest record against the team that is now 3rd in the Central Division currently.
