The Chicago Blackhawks fly into the Canada Life Centre, as they take on a tough opponent in the Central Division, the Winnipeg Jets.

The Blackhawks will continue their road trip, against the Jets in their home opener. The Jets opened their 2024-2025 season by scoring a whopping 6 points on Stuart Skinner, and the Edmonton Oilers.

Winnipeg went 21-9-1 in Central Division play and had a 52-24-6 record overall last season. The Jets had an 18.8% power play success rate last season, scoring 45 goals on 240 chances.

Connor Hellebuyck ended the night with his 38th career shutout, and 30 saves against the usually lethal, Edmonton Oilers.

The team has a lot of offensive potential and has been one team in the NHL that can score by committee.

The Jets have Kyle Connor scored 61 points(34 G, 27 A), while Mark Scheifle scored 72 points( 25 G, 47 A) in 74 games.

Gabriel Vilardi (0.77 points per game) and Nikolaj Ehlers (0.74) produced at top-six quality, Cole Perfetti (0.54) was close, and Josh Morrissey (0.85) contributed from the back end.

While the Jets did lose Sean Monahan to Columbus in the offseason, they have a solid amount of depth in the lineup.

The main puzzle to crack for the Blackhawks will be for Connor Bedard and the Blackhawks to crack former Vezina Trophy winner, Connor Hellebuyck.

Hellebuyck is coming off his Vezina winning season with a 37-19-4 record, 2.39 GAA, and a .921 save percentage.

If the Blackhawks are to win tonight, they will have to shut down the top 3 lines in the Jets offensive, in addition to Josh Morrissey on the backend.

Solving Hellebuyck won't be easy either, as he handily shut out Connor McDavid, Jeff Skinner, Leon Draisaitl, Zach Hyman, and RNH.

Tonight will be tough, as the Blackhawks have a 0-1-0 start to the season and look to rebound with a change in the lineup tonight, as Wyatt Kaiser, Andreas Athanasiou, and Arvid Soderblom slot in.
