Jonathan Toews gets delivered harsh news on his 36th birthday
Kraken's Coach Firing Draws Criticism on Toews' Birthday
The Seattle Kraken's decision to fire head coach Dave Hakstol has sparked controversy, especially given the timing. Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported the news, revealing that assistant coach Paul McFarland will also not return next season.
Blackhawks reporter Tab Bamford expressed disappointment, stating,
"Firing Jonathan Toews' college coach on his 36th birthday? Not cool, Kraken. Not cool at all."
Ironically, Hakstol's dismissal coincides with Toews' birthday on April 29th, adding an unexpected twist to the situation.
The timing of the decision is oddly funny after all, and Blackhawks reporter Tab Bamford was cracking a light joke.
