Lukas Reichel sends a major message to Luke Richardson and Nolan Allan earns first NHL point
The Chicago Blackhawks have drawn first blood early, as they have put one goal up on "elite" goaltender, Juuse Saros.
The elite goalie let one go from Craig Smith, at 2:55 in the 1st period of the game in the United Center.
The goal was assisted by Lukas Reichel, and Nolan Allan as the fourth line of the Chicago Blackhawks seems to be the drivers of offense early.
The Predators have come into Chicago and haven't put all of their efforts into play in the 1st period as they're in a slump with new acquisitions Jonathan Marchessault, and Steven Stamkos.
If they cannot get a point back tonight, they could end up sliding 1-6 in the Central Division and are dead last, just below the Blackhawks.
Tonight Lukas Reichel, Craig Smith, and the rest of the fourth line just came out buzzing and it has paid off early.
Nolan Allan also gets a point on assist, which is his 1st NHL point, and will hopefully give Luke Richardson a reason to keep him in the lineup.
Allan is currently paired with TJ Brodie and has had a better start in the NHL counterpoint to his teammate Alec Martinez who hasn't brought much in the way of defense or offense.
«I was just saying he's doing good things,» Richardson told us after practice on Wednesday. «When somebody is struggling or does something that's a little bit off of our structure, you try and talk to them and bring them back, and you want to make sure you talk to them when they do something well as well.»
Reichel is up to 3 assists in 4 games, and Craig Smith has 3 goals in 6 games as well.
Looks like it's another night of fourth-line dominance for the Blackhawks, but what matters most, can Bedard, and Foligno become relevant tonight?
