The Bruins have looked dismal all season, and have failed to live up to their contender status of past.
Today Head Coach Luke Richardson made a small adjustment to the lineup ahead of the game against the Bruins.
Instead of keeping rookie goaltender Arvid Soderblom in the net, and risking putting him on waivers, he will use veteran Peter Mrazek in the net tonight.
Rookie goalie Soderblom played against the Toronto Maple Leafs and was unable to stop the onslaught, making 18 saves on 21 shots on goal. He'd end the night with 3 GA, and a .857 save percentage.
Soderblom has played 57 games in the NHL and is only three games shy of having to be placed on waivers to return to the AHL.
That could mean the Blackhawks lose a solid goalie prospect in Soderblom and Kyle Davidson can't risk that, while no other goalie prospect in the depth chart is ready for NHL level of play.
Instead, he will utilize the man who carried the burdens of the Blackhawks past, Petr Mrazek.
Nothing in the defense or forward core has changed, as Taylor Hall and Tyler Bertuzzi still reside on the 1st line with Connor Bedard.
Petr Mrazek remains a solid bet in goal, as he's played 18 games this season, with 8 wins, 2.79 GAA, and a.908 save percentage.
