Newest Blackhawk Tyler Bertuzzi slams Chicago's famous food during first training camp session
The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired new forwards to make the team competitive for 2024-2025.
Of course, these players will want to acclimate themselves with the local foodstuffs in the area. It'll be their new home, and they will want to take in the culture, drinks, and music to connect with the fans.
One of those forwards who tried something new was forward Tyler Bertuzzi and well he wasn't a huge fan of this cultural institution in Chicago.
The Deep Dish Pizza.
Some consider it a casserole, and not all are a fan, but it is a huge part of Chicago.
While Giordano's is one of the well-known deep-dish Pizza places in Chicago, there are better pizza places to find we're sure.
We're unsure of where he got to try the local delicacy, but he considers himself more of a flatbread pizza guy.
Of course, it's not for everyone, but who doesn't love the cheese, on cheese, with the flaky crust, and sauce hiding the best parts?
The deep dish originated with Pizzeria Uno in 1943 according to NatGeo:
What is the original Chicago deep-dish?
What is the story behind Chicago deep dish pizza?
True deep dish was indeed invented at 29 East Ohio Street (the address of Pizzeria Uno's first restaurant) in the autumn of 1943, says Regas - but not by Sewell. The actual mastermind was apparently Ric Riccardo, who discovered a pizza oven and round cast iron pans in the kitchen when he took over the place.Mar 24, 2024
We here at Hawks Insider, love deep-dish pizza and want to try it all!
