It's been a rollercoaster off season for the Edmonton Oilers as the organization has gone through major structural changes along with several trades and signings, but according to Frank Seravalli Oilers general manager Stan Bowman may be ready to make another deal prior to training camp.
After their disappointing loss in game seven of the Stanley Cup finals, the Oilers had gone through several changes including general manager Ken Holland stepping down from his role and former Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman taking his place after being reinstated by the NHL.
The big news of course was the signing of Leon Draisaitl to his eight-year $112 million deal. With all those changes completed and less than two weeks till training camp, Seravalli feels that the team is still looking to make another deal prior to training camp as they feel their business is not done.
With the possibility of Evander Kane requirig surgery for a hip issue and having him added to the LTIR, it means a possible 5.125 million open to help the team on their top 6 wing and adding another defesnseman.
This aggressive style has been the hallmark of their offseason as Oilers CEO Jeff Jackson is putting the stamp on his team well not being afraid to make a trade or tinker with the lineup even though it went to the Stanley Cup finals last year.
