The Vegas Golden Knights have addressed the situation that keeps goalie Robin Lehner out of the crease for 2024-2025.

The goalie has been on LTIR for sometime now, as his last game played was in April 30th, 2022.

The former Blackhawk goalie failed to show up for a mandatory medical exam at training camp. The exam would prove whether or not Lehner remains ineligible to play at an NHL level

According to GM McCrimmon Lehner remains unfit to play and will not report to the Vegas Golden Knights this season.

The NHLPA will have to step in to address the special circumstances surrounding Lehner.

Lehner has one year left on his contract with the Vegas Golden Knights, as he has a $4.5 Million salary at play here. While his cap hit for the cap remains $5 Million dollars, buried in LTIR at the moment.

For GM McCrimmon this could prove to be a solution or a burden, as we all know how the Golden Knights love the LTIR.

Lehner hasn't been the same goalie since 2018-2019, when he was a Vezina Trophy Finalist, in New York and won the Bill Masterton Trophy.

Lehner has been a mental health advocate, discussing his bipolar disorder publically, along with ADHD, PTSD, and other undiagnosed mental struggles, along with his issues with drugs and alcohol.

He has been sober since and helped lead to a successful run with the Vegas Golden Knights, and a $25 Million dollar contract in peril at the moment.
