Blackhawks forward Nick Foligno sat down with former NHL enforcer John Scott on his Dropping The Gloves podcast and called out his former coach Jim Montgomery of the Boston Bruins.

During his interview, Foligno felt that the Bruins were almost too good of a team that hindered Montgomery's ability to coach in 2023. During that series, the Bruins had a 3-1 lead with a chance to close out, but this was not the case as the Bruins collapsed and allowed the Panthers to storm back and take Game 7 which set them on the course for the Stanley Cup final.

The Panthers ended up losing their Stanley Cup finals to the Vegas Golden Knights. Looking back though, there did appear to be a lot of second guessing and questioning on how to structure the roster to compete against the Panthers even though the Bruins had a significant lead in the series.

Foligno is now an integral part of the Blackhawks roster and has become a part of the leadership group which has filled the void since Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane left the team.

The Blackhawks have been busy all summer including a superb draft in which general manager Kyle Davidson was able to acquire new picks and draft accordingly. He also went out and picked up several key free agents in all positions that were in need of an upgrade.

Now it's a matter of the Blackhawks putting it all together with head coach Luke Richardson to see if the Blackhawks can move the needle towards a playoff spot. Quite a bit must go according to plan for all this to work but Blackhawks fans may be in for a surprisingly entertaining season.
