The Chicago Blackhawks will remain out of a playoff spot this season, despite their best efforts. As a result, NHL veteran Pat Maroon has called out Gary Bettman.

Despite their best efforts, the Chicago Blackhawks aren't likely to make the playoffs this season, as they're 8th in the Central Division.

They've undergone a coaching change, and have brought in a multitude of veterans during free agency.

However, Blackhawks veteran Pat Maroon was upset with the Blackhawks' situation, as with a -39 goal differential they will have to adjust their attitudes.

Yet, he's remained focused on winning and would call out the NHL for favoritism while the Hawks languish.

2025 will be another year where the team isn't in the playoffs, and Maroon expressed his frustration.

The team has a record of 14-28-2, and gaining ground from that isn't easy a frustration we all share with Maroon.

But it seems even then, the three-time Stanley Cup champion is focused on what is best for the NHL.

He's correct, the NHL needs a team like the Blackhawks and their loyal fanbase to be successful in the post-season.

The Blackhawks have one of the most diehard bases in the NHL, and the hype has continued with Bedard's arrival in the NHL.

Maybe Allan Walsh was right after all.

"A sad testament to the Bettman era, the NY Rangers won the Cup, the NHL was surging and Gary locked the players out for half a season killing all its momentum."

Since 1994, Bettman has locked the NHL into mediocrity.

The Blackhawks are a team that should be in the playoff discussion every year, competing for a Stanley Cup.

Now they have to fight for scraps at the big boys' table. Something has to give.
