Spittin Chiclets Ryan Whitney Host Roasts Chicago Blackhawks
Former NHL are and current host of the Spittin Chiclets Ryan Whitney roasted the Chicago Blackhawks for their horrible play during their game against the Buffalo Sabres where they lost 6-2.
Whitney went a little further and compared this as the worst period of hockey in the entire NHL history while adding extra insult that he played with the 2010-2011 Edmonton Oilers.
The period in question was the first as the Blackhawks were down 4-0 and showing no signs of life during that game. The Blackhawks were badly outshot 35-17 and had a staggering 20 turnovers compared to the Sabres 8.
This game was a tale of two terrible teams that are trying to find their way out of the NHL basement and trying to rise to more respectability. The Blackhawks have received a modest coaching bump since they had fired former head coach Luke Richardson a few weeks ago.
Interim rookie head coach Anders Sorensen has worked hard with his players to try to establish a better pace to the game, more consistent lines and forced the defense to move up into the offensive zone.
It was clear during that period of hockey that that did not occur, and the Blackhawks looked flat.
This was a game that the Blackhawks wanted to forget and clearly have the hallmark of a potential mess as the Sabres were trying hard to stop their tailspin as they have gone 2-7-1 through their last 10 games.
The Blackhawks had a small winning streak going of three games prior to playing the game against the Flames, but since then the team has played poorly and has lost their last three games against the Flames, Wild and the Sabres.
There is one game remaining before the Winter Classic for the Blackhawks will be at home to play against the Dallas which game time will be at 8:30 PM Eastern.
