The Chicago Blackhawks and Ron Jurinek Team up for a Meaningful Cause at The United Center
The Chicago Blackhawks will be major contributors to a great cause this season. This cause should give players like Nick Foligno, and Connor Bedard a reason to score more goals this year.
The Blackhawks and the Jacob "Jake" Jurinek Foundation will donate $100 from every home goal this season.
This will hopefully rest in the Foundation making a huge donation at the end of the season.
Jacob's father, Ron lead the way this Friday by scoring two goals during the "Shoot The Puck" contest.
Jake passed away during the 2021 incident at Astroworld.
«We are all devastated and are left with a huge hole in our lives,» Ron Jurinek told TODAY via a statement. «Right now, we ask for the time and space for our family to process this tragic news and begin to heal. We're comforted by the fact that the hundreds of people Jake touched over the years will carry a piece his spirit with them.»
In the decade since then, the pair of men were inseparable, according to the statement, sharing in their love for baseball as fans for both the White Sox and Blackhawks, as well as their shared love for professional wrestling.
Jurinek died young at age 20 and was studying his passions at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
The subjects he was studying were art and media, according to his family in reports after his passing after the Astroworld Incident.
This is a way for the Blackhawks, and Jurinek to contribute to the community and for us all to know that the team is doing something great, always!
