Pacioretty, a known goal scorer, played 47 games with Washington last season after coming back from an injury. While he isn't the 30-goal scorer he used to be, he could still add some scoring to the Blackhawks' lineup.
The last three seasons have been tough for him, with injuries like a torn Achilles and ACL slowing him down. Last season, he had 23 points (4 goals, 19 assists) with the Capitals and was clearly still recovering.
Still, he might bounce back in the right spot, and GM Kyle Davidson could see this as a low-risk, high-reward move, and grant him plenty of minutes beside goal-scoring Calder Trophy Winner Connor Bedard. Adding Pacioretty could give the team another veteran and a scoring boost as they rebuild.
Other Original Six teams, like the Red Wings, have shown interest in him, but this could be Chicago's chance to pick up a player with potential.
If Pacioretty gets back in form, he could be a valuable part of our team, and it would be a win for Davidson to help him revive his career here with the Blackhawks.
