Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl signs historic highest-paid NHL extension in history
Superstar center Leon Draisaitl has committed to staying with the Edmonton Oilers for the long haul, signing an eight-year contract extension worth $112 million.
This deal makes Draisaitl the highest-paid player in the NHL, with an average annual salary of $14 million, as first reported by Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
Not only is he now the highest-paid player in the league today, but this contract also makes him the highest-paid player in NHL history.
