It seems Samuel Savoie, a prospect for the Chicago Blackhawks and currently playing for the QMJHL Gatineau, made headlines tonight for an unusual reason.
After scoring an empty-net goal to secure a 5-2 victory, Savoie waved goodbye to the opposing team as part of his celebration.
However, this gesture resulted in a game misconduct for the young player.
Savoie's spirited celebration might have been well-intentioned, but it ultimately led to his ejection from the game.
With expectations of making it to the NHL next year, this incident serves as a lesson for the young player as he navigates his promising hockey career.
