The Hockey community is in disarray, as Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Gaudreau were struck and killed only weeks ago, but a reckless drunk driver.
Pop-up memorials have sprung up outside of the Blue Jackets home, Nationwide Arena and the Calgary Flames arena, Scotiabank Saddledome.
However, more than one area in Canada has had memorials popping up for the brothers, as Montreal had an impromptu memorial erected at the Bell Center.
This is great symbolism of how the hockey community comes together in times of need and trouble. However, some of these haven't been as appreciated as they should've been, as the Bell Center staff have removed the tributes nightly.
This wasn't something that just happened once, as it had happened multiple times.
This would be more understandable if in 2022 this was a policy established when Guy Lafleur passed away. The area was treated as an extension of a memorial for Lafleur, fans will wait to hear an answer to this double-standard.
Will the Habs and Bell Center have a good answer?
