Kane was aggressively pushing the puck up the wing and crossed the blue line. He then went down to the faceoff circle and shoveled the puck across the ice with a beautiful backhand pass to Andrew Copp, who then passed it to Moritz Seider, who scored the goal.
The Red Wings have been struggling so far with a record of 12-14-4 with 28 points and they find themselves 26th in the league, which is shocking because they just missed the playoffs last year.
Steve Yzerman will have to make some changes if they want to make the playoffs, so we'll see if he does anything or is content to a draft pick.
The only problem is, for Kane, he isn't getting any younger. Kane's time is running out, and you know he wants to make the playoffs as much as possible, but Detroit may not be the place for it, as they're still technically stuck or on that last leg of their rebuild.
Kane is having a good year, tallying three goals and eight assists, which add to 11 points in 25 games. This is his second straight season in the Motor City, and last year he had 47 points in 50 games with 20 goals, freshly rejuvenated coming off a successful hip surgery and being reunited with Alex DeBrincat, his former teammate when he was on the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Red Wings ended up winning 4-2 off that goal, and broke a three-way tie between them, the Anaheim Ducks, and the Buffalo Sabres.
Hopefully, Kane continues to play well, and Detroit can turn it around so we can see Showtime in the playoffs.
