As one of the team's newest veterans, Perry brought a positive energy to practice today.
He did so by bringing his young son Griffin out on the ice today.
Perry's actions helped his teammates forget about the awful loss and instead enjoy practice, while Griffin was the star on the ice today.
I love this as Corey Perry chats with @EdmontonOilers coach Kris Noblauch his son Griffin has his back(just in case). Perry cute pic.twitter.com/peuqKjDFsS Gene Principe (@GenePrincipe) February 22, 2024
At the end of practice, you could find Corey and Griffin practicing stick-handling with Connor McDavid.
There's one person in the world who can keep the puck off McDavid's stick for an extended time it seems.
His name: Griffin Perry. #Oilers pic.twitter.com/YACux57cAq Tony Brar (@TonyBrarOTV) February 22, 2024
While practicing, Griffin Perry even outshone McDavid. It's unlikely that McDavid treated Griffin lightly.
Overall, Griffin Perry's presence at practice was a great way to refresh after a tough loss.
After today's practice, Kris Knoblauch selected Calvin Pickard as the goaltender against the Minnesota Wild.
The Oilers' #1 goalkeeper Stuart Skinner has gone cold and has obviously been overplayed. With 39 starts, 25 wins, and 12 losses, he has started the majority of Edmonton Oilers games this season.
It is hoped that the team can recover from the loss and test its goalie depth to give Skinner some time to recover so that the Oilers will have another chance to succeed.
Calvin Pickard is in the starter's net for today's practice.
It appears he'll get the start vs. MIN on Friday. #Oilers pic.twitter.com/u9olypGg57 Tony Brar (@TonyBrarOTV) February 22, 2024
