Disgraced forward Corey Perry officially hits rock bottom with Edmonton Oilers
Corey Perry hits new career low with the Edmonton Oilers
Corey Perry served as a healthy scratch once again in this years Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Oilers made a team decision to scratch Perry in game 2, after a rough game 1, where he took a penalty at a crucial time. Corey Perry in disbelief following ref controversy in game 1 of Panthers Oilers
He previously sat four games straight in the second round, this move by Oilers' head coach Chris Knoblauch does not come as a huge surprise.
A fringe-NHL player, who has never spent a full season in the NHL as he is an AHL-caliber player, Sam Carrick, is the player who replaced Corey Perry in the lineup in game 2.
Knoblauch's lineup decisions have turned out to be successful in the past, but removing Perry from the lineup did not stop the Florida Panthers from dominating the Oilers in game 2, taking a 4-1 win to take a 2-0 series lead.
