Marc-Andre Fleury shares stunning update on his future to the public
Minnesota Wild goalie Marc-Andre Fleury is still having a great time playing hockey it seems, but there is uncertainty about his future.
In an interview, he said he's not ready to retire yet and is open to playing more, but quickly circled back on his words.
«Yeah, it's probably Minnesota or retirement,»
said Fleury
He wants to talk with the team's GM, Bill Guerin, to see if he still fits in the team's plans. Fleury has been a key backup goalie for the Wild this season, and Guerin is open to him returning for another season.
«The door is more open today for a return than it was in September or October. I'd like to sit down with (Wild GM Bill Guerin) and have a chat with him, I want to know what he thinks. What are the plans for the Wild? What are his options? What does he think about me? Am I still an asset for the team?"
«I'm more than open to the possibility of seeing him coming back for another season, 100%, We'll talk about it in the next few days. He's still having a good season. I think he's still got hockey in him if he wants. There's still some gas left in his tank.»
Fleury is finishing his second year with the Wild and is happy to stay in Minnesota or retire.
