Toronto media bothers Leafs superstar with contract questions at charity event
Charity event exposes tough news for Maple Leafs organization
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi spoke with uncertainty when asked about his future in Toronto when at a charity event, where he was helping out for 'Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk'.
If Toronto media couldn't get any worse, it did. While Domi was at the charity event, he was peppered with hockey questions about his new head coach, Craig Berube, and his contract status with the team.
"All the guys in the locker room, the staff, they're going to benefit from having him around every single day. There's a presence around him, he means business. Whether I'm here or not, he's exactly what this team needs to take the next step. I know my agent has been talking to Treliving, though I have to keep that discussion in-house," Domi said. "Whatever happens will happen, but I've still enjoyed every second as a Leaf. I'd love to come back, it's a special organization, a special group of guys."
While this confirms uncertainty about returning to Chicago, it was definitely not the proper scene, or time and place to ask those questions.
