It's been reported that Kyle Davidson and the Chicago Blackhawks have regularly kept in touch with Belarussian defenseman, Artyom Levshunov.
They have spoken regularly several times, including last night when they would have dinner together, no doubt another part of the dancing and romancing of a top NHL prospect.
Levshunov mentioned that the talks have gone well between himself, his agent, and the team:
As the draft fast approaches, it seems that instead of Ivan Demidov and the uncertainty surrounding SKA St. Petersburg, the team is going with the sure bet in Artyom Levshunov.
Levshunov is a capable two-way defenseman, who plays a heavy game and has offensive upside, which is desirable in defenseman, as you need someone who can start the breakout and make clutch passes.
It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, as Levshunov had a spectacular year, earning The Big Ten's Defensive Player of The Year and Rookie Of The Year, donning Michigan State's Green and White.
Levshunov had 35 points( 9 G, 26 A) in 38 games, and helped the program achieve their first regular season, and give the Spartans their first conference tournament championship since 2013, the year the program began.
Did I mention he was First Team-All Star as well?
This would mean, Demidov is free pickings for the Ducks or Blue Jackets, whomever comes first.
