Both Jeff Marek and Freidman were discussing the draft when it was mentioned that one NHL team told Friedman about rumors that were being spread across the league about the young prospects height and other issues to try to drop his stock value.
There are many teams looking to drafting this young man, the 18-year-old right winger has been ranked across the board around #2 or #3 in the draft.
According to eliteprospects.com Demidov is an excellent distributor of the puck and a great driver of a line which gives teams like the Chicago Blackhawks reasons to look at him intensely.
The Blackhawks face a difficult choice as Demidov will be available at #2 along with vaunted defenseman Artyom Levshunov who could become the quarterback of the Blackhawks power play within the next couple of years.
This year's draft will have a ton of defensemen available in the 1st 10 picks and it's not uncommon for teams to try to persuade other teams not to draft certain players.
Teams will even trade draft picks to covet a certain spot to get the player they want. General manager Kyle Davidson will have many decisions ahead of him especially his number two pick and it remains to be seen on who he will choose but it's safe to say that he will get a great player no matter who he chooses.
