After a knee-on-knee collision between Carlsson and the Blackhawks Alex Vlasic, someone would have to answer the bell.
The collision ended up with the code coming into play, where you're never supposed to injure a star player.

And with someone like Radko Gudas out of the lineup, the intimidation factor has to be lessened, as someone like Gustav Lindstrom has filled the gap that Gudas's absence left.
However, after the collision and injury, the fisticuffs arose and the two would grab each other's collars, and exchange a flurry of punches.

Again, not intentional from Vlasic but old school rules mean he answers the bell.

This was Vlasic's third fight in the NHL and Strome wouldn't let him forget it as Strome would swing with intent, but fail to connect on some punches.
Vlasic would fall to the ice and the fight would end, as for his third fight he managed to do pretty well, defending himself all the while being held accountable by Ryan Strome of the Anaheim Ducks.
