Brad Marchand takes a low-blow shot at Connor Bedard following his injury
Brad Marchand and Connor Bedard are two completely different players in terms of play styles and value to their organizations. Bruins Brad Marchand is a gritty player that'll win games by getting underneath your skin. Blackhawks Connor Bedard is no bluff that'll win games by scoring goals with his generational talent.
The Bruins faced off against the Blackhawks early on in the season, and Marchand tried his best to get underneath the skin of Bedard:
That was not the only thing Marchand did to make an attempt at throwing off 'Bedsy's' game, he also made some controversial comments about him earlier on in the year:
Fast-forward three months past that situation and those comments from Marchand, and Connor Bedard sadly sustained an injury in Friday's game against the New Jersey Devils.
Following Connor Bedard's injury and departure from the game, after the game finished, 10:48PM at night, comments from Brad Marchand were posted to social media:
"THE YOUNG GUYS ARE GETTING THE ATTENTION NOW. THERE'S A LOT OF FLASHY YOUNG GUYS COMING TO THE LEAGUE... BEDARD'S A HECK OF A PLAYER FOR HIS AGE, BUT SID'S ONE OF THE BEST TO EVER PLAY THE GAME, ONE OF THE TOP COUPLE PLAYERS IN THE LEAGUE NOW AND BEDARD PROBABLY GETS MORE ATTENTION THAN ANYBODY."
Marchand stated.
Marchand is entitled to his own opinion, but making a statement, claiming that Bedard gets too much attention following his injury is a low-blow.
Thankfully for Marchand and the Bruins they do not face the Blackhawks for the rest of the season.
