Nashville Predators forward Tommy Novak Causes Scare Following Freak Collision With Fellow Teammate Monday Night vs LA Kings

The Nashville Predators faced off against the LA Kings on Monday night, when a freak incident occurred for Predators forward Tommy Novak. The forward found himself on the receiving end of a dirty hit... from his own teammate?

In what are calling the hit a "freak play" it was from his fellow teammate, Colton Sissons, who is a 6-foot-1, 200lb NHL enforcer/grinder.

Tommy Novak just collided with his own teammate on a freak play. Caught Colton Sissons' shoulder up high and was down on the ice for an extended period of time. Was able to skate off on his own power, but visibly shaken up

It was during a routine play when Novak had his head down and skated into his teammate Sissons, both were attempting to retrieve the puck, when a shoulder to the head was delivered to Novak. The impact left Novak down on the ice for an extended period of time, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.

Following Novak getting up under his own power, fans took to social media, specifically the platform X (formerly Twitter) to make lighthearted jokes.

Best defensive play of the night for the Preds was Sissons' crushing hit on Tommy Novak
Another fan stated

There has been no official update on the condition of Novak, he has left the game and has not returned since the collision with Sissons.

It's definitely not something fans and player witness every day or game, but at the end of it all it is a heavyweight collision, and we at Hawksinsider hope for the best for Tommy Novak.
