24 Players Believe Their Salary Isn't Fair and File For Salary Arbitration
The NHL players association has announced 24 players have filed for salary arbitration, which is when a player does not feel like they are earnings a fair salary with their contract. Via Forbes, what does it mean when a player filed for salary arbitration?
What does it mean when a player files for arbitration? An arbitration-eligible player can elect to take his club to arbitration. A player will do this if he does not believe the club is offering fair market value for his
services. A GM can also use the arbitration process and bring a player to an arbitration hearing.
There is also a list of 8 individuals who did not apply for arbitration, surprisingly and it may be due to them wanting out of the franchise in the future as filing for arbitration does not allow other teams to offer sheet a player.
