Hands down the Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane is the best American-born player of all-time. He's done it all and can still compete at a high level, putting up 92 points last season.
Unfortunately for Blackhawks fans, General Manager Kyle Davidson is cleaning house, and it's been confirmed that both Johnathan Toews and Patrick Kane are on the trading block.
The question is now, though, who's going to be able to take on those contracts unless salaries are retained.
According to NHL Trade Rumors, they have revealed the top three likely destinations for Kane.
The Ducks are a bit of a surprise with them being sellers at the past few trade deadlines. However, with the young stars they have and the addition of John Klingberg, the Ducks might surprise a lot of teams this season.
With all the moves Steve Yzerman has made, Detroit is slowly but surely building into adangerous team. A player like Patrick Kane would be huge for the young wing players. Cap space is still available, and for the haul the Hawks can get for Kane, I am sure they are willing to retain a portion of his salary for the little remaining time on his contract.
The New York Rangers seem to be interested in every major player because a lot of them fit the New York culture. Patty Kane was a bright light in big city play, and Madison Square Garden was a place Patty Kane could shine. Kane was very frustrated when the Hawks traded away his best buddy,
Artemi Panarin, who is now playing for the Rangers.
