There has been an increase in ownership bids for the Ottawa Senators, with The Weeknd expressing his interest over the weekend.

The Weeknd is a renowned Canadian musician from Scarborough, Ontario, known for his hit songs and Superbowl appearance in recent years. He is now venturing into sports ownership by investing his money in the team.

Alongside The Weeknd, the ownership group consists of two Toronto billionaires - Jeffrey and Michael Kimel. The Harlo Capital Group, which they lead, primarily invests in real estate and developments across Canada.

Also, The Weeknd has shown no signs of stopping since he broke these records:

The Weeknd, who entered the Guinness Book of World Records in March with a whopping 111.4 million listeners, wants to be a part of the bid because he grew up in Toronto, loves hockey, has ties to the Ottawa area and believes there's a chance to be part of something special here.

He's also the most streamed artist on Spotify and played the half-time show at the 2021 Super Bowl in Tampa. He's won four Grammy's in his career and was named the Artist of the Year at the Juno Awards in Edmonton.
