A player was taken off the lineup by the Blackhawks today, angering fans
The Chicago Blackhawks have made a terrible decision by removing a key player from their lineup.
Following the announcement that Andreas Athanasiou would be removed from the line-up today, fans on Twitter "X" in an uproar.
Entwistle will play; Athanasiou is scratched.
Richardson on Athanasiou: "I really value him and think he's a great NHL player, but if you're not playing at the top of your game, then you're not you, so we want someone else to have an opportunity."
Entwistle replaces Athanasiou, who had a great season with the Blackhawks last season and became a fan favorite.
Athanasiou wasn't playing at the top of his game, but that could be said of many of the current Blackhawks.
Many coaches make moves in order to spark offense and create chemistry, but removing a versatile and talented forward is one of them.
Except AA gives his all every game unlike most players on this team
Andreas Athanasiou should not be an extra. He's clearly one of the more skilled players on this team, and was excellent with Reichel and Kurashev last year. #Blackhawks
In other words, Richardson is using his recent slump as an excuse to leave Athanasiou out of the lineup and replace him with Entwistle.
We disagree.
