A strange thing happened in Toronto at the end of the game: fixed by the NHL?
Near the end of the Toronto Maple Leafs-Chicago Blackhawks game, something very strange happened.
Despite reducing the lead by 1, the Maple Leafs' goal was ruled offside with 6 seconds left.
Weird situation on that Leafs goal that got called back. Leafs cut the lead to 3-2 with 6 seconds left but overturned for offside. Now time goes back on the clock and Leafs down 3-1 with 51 seconds left. Do you really want that if you're CHI? Easier to score 2 in 51 than 1 in 6.
After the goal was cancelled, the score was 3-1 after the clock was rewound, adding 45 seconds to the game.
By doing so, the Leafs would have an easier time scoring two goals during that period.
After all that, should the Blackhawks have given the Maple Leafs that advantage?
