Another disturbing intentional skate incident unfolds between two former NHL players
In a recent game in Switzerland's National League, two former NHL players found themselves in a concerning situation. The incident unfolded when Martin Frk, a former NHL forward, attempted a body check that didn't go as planned, causing him to launch into his own team's bench. What happened next captured everyone's attention.
As Frk lost control and fell over the bench, his skate struck Lawrence Pilut, another former NHL player, directly in the face. Many are stating it was intentional.
Pilut reacted by immediately grabbing his face and skating away from the play. Frk, to his credit, promptly checked on Pilut, both right after the incident and before the next play, ensuring that Pilut hadn't sustained serious injuries.
Given the recent Adam Johnson incident, which is still fresh in the minds of the hockey community, it's understandable that Pilut was initially frightened by the skate blade incident, even if he escaped major injury.
