Another tragedy strikes the Chicago Blackhawks organization
Another forward for the Chicago Blackhawks has suffered an injury and won't be joining the team for their upcoming road trip. This is the fifth time he's been injured since joining the Blackhawks, making it a tough go for him.
This adds to the team's struggles with other key players, including Seth Jones, Taylor Hall, and Andreas Athanasiou, who are all on the injured reserve list.
Johnson, in the final year of his seven-year, $35 million contract originally signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2017, was part of a trade that involved a salary dump and also brought a second-round draft pick to Chicago. This deal included sending Brent Seabrook's contract back to the Lightning.
Unfortunately, Johnson's time with the Blackhawks has been plagued by injuries, limiting his games to 114, where he scored 22 goals and 50 points.
As the Blackhawks navigate through a challenging season, the hope is for Johnson's speedy recovery and a turnaround for the team in the face of these obstacles.
