Wayne Gretzky makes unbelievably bold statement about Connor Bedard
On Saturday night, rising star Connor Bedard amazed everyone with an incredible "Michigan" goal, scoring his 13th goal of the season by wrapping the puck around the net.
Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, one of the all-time greats, expressed admiration for Bedard's skills.
Gretzky humbly admitted in a surprising statement that he could never pull off the same move, stating in an interview:
"I couldn't do what he did tonight. That just wasn't in my repertoire. Hully (Bobby Hull) could do it. I could never do what he did tonight. It was fun to watch."
For Blackhawks fans, Bedard's surprising move may not be entirely unexpected, showcasing his talent and attempting a similar goal in the World Juniors a year ago, narrowly missing due to the opposing goalie's effective defense.
Gretzky commended Bedard's exceptional rookie season, noting,
"Well, he's been fun to watch. He's probably better than we anticipated. He's not only an ambassador on the ice but he's been tremendous off the ice for an 18-year-old young man. I'm happy for him. He's got the right coach in Luke Richardson, the right organization."
Bedard's impressive performance continues to captivate both on and off the ice, adding another remarkable chapter to his burgeoning career.
