The Chicago Blackhawks morale is currently in shambles, but unfortunately that is apart of the hectic ride for a franchise rebuild! A Marc-Andre Fleury and Brandon Hagel trade last minute before this years trade deadline left fans in shock, but the worse has yet to come..

Blackhawks forward Alex DeBrincat (back-to-back 40 goal scorer) is officially on the move and will be dealt elsewhere before the end of next season or during the NHL draft on July 7th, general manager Kyle Davidson has also mentioned multiple others are on the block..

Specifically Kirby Dach, Alex DeBrincat and Dylan Strome have drawn the most interest from other organizations, but how does this affect Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane's morale?

Patrick Kane:
Kaner was absolutely heartbroken when his iconic duo Artemi Panarin was dealt to the Columbus Blue Jackets- the Blackhawks did not have the funds to keep the 'bread man'' along on the roster, frustration was shown from Patrick Kane during interviews and media questionnaires after each game.

Losing Alex DeBrincat is scarily similar to the Panarin situation, but even worse.. Patrick Kanes whopping $10.5 million dollar contract is set to expire after this season, and Kane himself mentioned during a press interview that if DeBrincat stayed it would definitely help his thoughts on a future in a Blackhawks uniform.

Jonathan Toews:
Captain clutch Jonathan Toews has been through a lot, including injuries and as well as losing multiple teammates throughout the past few years, Toews openly admitted that his health is not where it needs to be as he suffered multiple concussion head injuries this past season. Health comes before hockey, and Toews may pull the trigger on that and potentially retire after his contract expires (the same time Kanes contract expires), a lack of depth with the loss of DeBrincat will put Toews playing with youth that are no-near developed, and it may be a ugly season as it's the first of the multi-year rebuild.

NHL insider reveals it'll be interesting how the two respond..
