This summer, pictures emerged of New York Rangers star forward Artemi Panarin sporting a radically new look - he had completely shaved off his hair. Panarin's explanation for this bold move was intriguing; he did it
"to reset a bad stage of his career and remove evil forces that may have been in his hair."
As the Rangers opened their training camp this week, Panarin's teammates finally got to witness his hair transformation in person. One teammate, goalie Igor Shesterkin, was asked about Panarin's new look and shared that he had cried upon seeing it, courtesy of Arthur Staple of The Athletic.
There's also the practical concern of how comfortable he'll be wearing a helmet, especially for extended periods during games. Maybe Shesterkin's tears were a display of empathy, as he imagined the potential discomfort his teammate might face.
