The Colorado Avalanche dominated in this years NHL playoffs landing them the ultimate trophy of every kids childhood, the Stanley Cup. Colorados main produce was done by their offense that contains a stacked top 6 of Mikko Rantanen, Nazem Kadri, Nathan Mackinnon, Gabriel Landeskog and others. They would not have won the cup without their defense being as clutch as it was, Cale Makar put on a clinic, clamping up star forwards like Nikita Kucherov, Connor McDavid and Steven Stamkos, Devon Toews, Erik Johnson, Samuel Girard and Bowen Byram the other on defense that held the team together with there glue-like features.

What is left after offense and defense? The goaltenders, the starting goaltender Darcey Kuemper shocked fans but sadly not in a good way, plenty of soft goals were let it but at the end of the day- he is a Stanley Cup Champion, and expects a pay raise after his performance throughout this years Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Colorado Avalanche traded for Georgiev, the Rangers backup goaltender.

Leaving fans in shock, practically meaning Darcey Kuemper or Pavel Francouz is out the door- the obvious answer leading to the older goaltender Darcey Kuemper as Francouz has shown nothing but amazing progression for the organization, and stood tall when Kuemper was injured throughout this years playoff run to the cup.

NHL insider reveals Elliot Friedman revealed that the Washington Capitals are the front runner to signing Darcey Kuemper, and that a deal is already locked in place with Kuemper- but they cannot make it official until Wednesday. Plenty of other teams like the Oilers show interest, but the Capitals seem to have landed the Stanley Cup Champion.
